TK stands for Three Knuckleheads. No, not those knuckleheads!
Now it may sound like an odd name for a farm but it is all about family and three adorable children, Natalie, and twins Rylie and JJ.
John and Brittany brought their family back to NC last spring from Maryland and have established their farm in Polk County, where they raise chickens for meat and eggs, kale, lettuce mixes, spinach and other vegetables as spring comes in. They are also started pig production which will go to market in early February.
All of this means we are looking forward to not only the chicken and eggs we currently carry here at the Farm Store but wonderful pastured pork and a great array of fresh vegetables though out the year.
While John works the farm, Brittany is a food scientist with a Western NC firm. From her knowledge and expertize in the kitchen she does a kale pesto (will have more soon) and a Whole Grain Pancake Mix. I can personally endorse these products as being everything those packages you get in the big box stores are not - nutritious and taste great.
Thanks to TK Family Farms the Mill Spring Farm Stores has a great supply of whole free range, no antibiotics, and no hormones added chicken.
We look forward to more from the Klimstra Family and their healthy way of life.
