It's All About Passion
Mill Spring Farm Store
The Mill Spring Farm Store is rather like a year 'round indoor tailgate market - a local food treasure house where shoppers can delight in what their neighbors have grown and products that embody the care and love put into making them.
Started September 1, 2013 the store is owned and operated by one of our own, apiarist Reda Harvey.
Reda had dreamed of opening her own country store. With an extensive background in restaurant and retail management and the producer of Bee Blessed beauty products and confections, herself, Reda is the perfect fit to operate the Mill Spring Farm Store. She is a local lady that truly understands and honors the time and effort our local farmers and crafters put into growing produce, processing meats, making hand crafts and ready-to-eat products. Reda takes time to get to know each of her varied vendors and most of her customers; she can answer most any question you might have regarding her in store items. If you are looking for something and don't find it, ask Reda, she'll either know when it is coming in, or if she knows your interested in something in particular, she can call you when it comes in the door.
Mill Spring Agricultural Center
The Mill Spring Farm store is located in what the locals call the "Ag Center." The donation of the former Mill Spring School to the Polk Soil and Water Conservation District is a major game changer for Polk County residents and beyond. Its evolution into the Mill Spring Agricultural Development and Community Center focuses on preserving the rural character and enhancing the community of Polk County by supporting sustainable agriculture and providing a multi-use space for creating green collar jobs, businesses, community liaisons and special events. The Center is bringing together the collaborative value of state, federal and public resources in effort to build beneficial networks and innovative projects that will create a legacy of positive community spirit for generations to come.
